ABOUT US
Long Haul is the continued result of almost 20 combined years in fly fishing. We both came into this sport at a young age, and our experiences have grown and matured along with us. Years of trial and error on our own have given us a lot of respect for the process of learning this sport, and we felt compelled to share some of our unique experiences with the ever growing fly fishing community. Of course, we continue to learn more about fly fishing year after year, and feel this project would also be a great way to document our ongoing adventures. From freshwater to salt, brookies to albacore, and everything in between, we look forward to diving into some of our favorite times from years past, as well as looking forward to the future.
We met at a college fly fishing club meeting, hit the water the next day, and the rest is history. The next four years were spent fishing across New England, chasing its diverse range of species across all types of water throughout the seasons. Since then, we’ve spread out across the country and continue to fish hard, while frequently reuniting to take on new waters and challenges. Our different backgrounds give us a unique perspective on the other’s favorite types of species and fishing, and we have a lot of fun putting our heads together to get the job done on the water. We hope to put out stories and photos that readers find creative, funny, educational, and inspiring. Whether it’s a slice of knowledge, a laugh, or a new fishing bucket list item, we hope you take something away from this!

I’m an East coast native with roots to Long Island, NY. As a kid I grew up fishing the waters of the Long Island Sound. At the age of 19, I fell in love with fly fishing. While at the University of Vermont I honed my skills targeting pike, smallmouth, largemouth, musky, and other fun species. Since graduating in 2020, I’ve been a tried and true saltwater fly fisherman with passion for targeting stripers, bluefish, and albacore. When I’m not fishing locally in New York, I’m in hot pursuit of my dream catches.

I found my way into fly fishing at the beginning of high school, and taught myself on the streams and ponds around my New Jersey home. As soon as I could drive, I headed to further waters in the Catskills, Pennsylvania, and New England. I was hopelessly obsessed by the time I went to college in Vermont, and spent the next four years putting my skills against the region’s wide range of fish species. Soon after graduating I followed through on a lifelong dream of moving to the West, and now reside back in New England.
Trout remain my favorite fish to catch on the fly, but a few warm water species such as pike and smallmouth bass are close behind. I also have a deep fascination for native fish and their natural histories, and love the adventure of tracking down unique and rare subspecies. All of that said, I will fish for just about anything that swims, and at the end of the day I just love discovering what lives under the surface of whatever water I come across.
